Wars
Manson Wars
(also known as the Psychic War). The renegade Mentep Lars Hellstrom, upon finding the legendary Mindstone set
about on a Campaign of terror and destruction that eventually engulfed the entire Eastern Territory & beyond. His followers The Helskel; unleashed extraordinary powers of the mind (courtesy of the
Mindstone ), eventually the madness that resulted caused all people with psionic powers to be considered monsters. Long after Hellstrom and his followers were destroyed the legacy of their madness continued.
Hungry for vengeance mobs murdered psychics who were innocent of any wrong doing. The few honorable Menteps that remained, are believed to have been killed by mobs, while trying to protect the innocent. Few people
willingly speak of this time, considering it a dark time on the human soul.
Armageddon Wars
Thousands of years ago this series of unbelievable destructive wars rocked the continent (also referred to as The Great Disaster
or The Great Devastation, actually it was the Armageddon Wars unleashing of catastrophic magic that led to The Great Disaster.)
The Winter War
Massive hordes of savage barbarians (the Kreig among others) poured across the Orus Bridge and slaughtered all in their path.
Soon all manner of creatures were drawn into the conflict, several giant tribes, smelling the blood in the air, joined in the massacre. Untold numbers of human villagers died. Finally the horde was stopped at Fort
Northpass, later renamed The Grindstone, after the countless numbers of barbarians that were ground against it's walls. Avalon sent expeditions North of the fortress trying to save those trapped behind the
winter line. Few survivors were found. One small group of refugees did survive (at least for a while). A ranger Geoffrey, had led a small band to the hidden sanctuary of Ledgewood, where they spent the
duration of the war, however in some crazed fit of madness Geoffrey killed every man, woman & child that he had saved. One survivor lived to tell what happened. The ranger was henceforth known as Geoffrey
the Mutilator and woe be to him if the Knights of Avalon ever find him. While there was never any direct proof, the average citizen of Avalon feel that it was The Winter Warlock who was behind this war. No one may
ever know the truth.
