“I am Grolsch.”
“My mother, Vroda the Barren, could not have children. An Orc woman who can't bear children will never find a mate to provide
for her so my mother became a warrior to survive. She moved from her home with the Bloodletter tribe to the human settlement known as Deeptown. Deeptown was a place where my
mother could earn a good living with her sword. While in Deeptown, my mother learned about the Church of the Sacred
Axe. The religion was blind to the sex & race of its members. The only thing that mattered was to fight hard & die well.
As my mother aged, her longing for a child grew stronger. She prayed to the Red God for aid & engaged in great feats of combat to prove her faith. Finally,
her devotion paid off. After falling unconscious after a near fatal battle, she had a vision of a human in red-trimmed armor. She dreamt the man laid with her &
told her that her prayers had been heard. When my mother recovered from her wounds, she was pregnant with me.
I was born & raised in the Orc ghetto of Deeptown. My mother raised me as a follower of the Red God. Eventually, I joined the priesthood so that I could
better serve the god who had granted me life.”
